A2s - 3-peat!
Congratulations to our A2 team, winning the 2016 A2 Premiership - completing a 3-peat of flags. We started strongly with the bat, plating 2, then 4 in the first 3 digs to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Tight defence, led by Buzz on the hill never really gave Dandenong a sniff as we ran out victors 7-1.Well done to all players, coaches, managers and scorers from all teams on a successful winter season on the field .... only 6 months and we can do it all again!

Finals
Congratulations to our Under 15 Black team, winning the 2016 Under 15 Premiership. In what was a real pitchers duel (1 hit only to both teams), the team hung in there to defeat Cheltenham White 1-0.The A1 team was defeated by Dandenong 6-4 in the Preliminary Final ... and their season is now over.
The A2 team had a strong win over Dingley 11-3 in the Preliminary Final and now move on to the Grand Final against Dandenong next week: 11.30am, Sunday 4 September at Dingley.
Good luck to the A2s - going for a 3-peat!

Finals
The Under 15 Black team takes on Cheltenham White in the Grand Final this Saturday 27 August, 8.45am at Pakenham!The A1 team plays Dandenong in the Prelim Final on Sunday 28 August, 2.15pm at home.
The A2 team plays Dingley in the Prelim Final on Sunday 28 August, 11.30 at home.

We are hosting this weekends senior Preliminary Finals (6 games over the weekend) on Saturday and Sunday 28/29 August. We will need all hands-on-deck to run this weekend, especially as we have two teams playing - please volunteer some time over the weekend. Melbourne Sports Institute - Coach Wanted
The Melbourne Sports Institute are currently seeking a baseball coach to participate in secondary school sport in Mornington for the summer season. Coaching sessions take place during the week on Tuesdays and Fridays with one match and training session. This is a wonderful opportunity for coaches to gain some additional hours work and further develop their coaching experience, skills and confidence.Our coaching rates commence at $25 per hour with opportunities to work multiple hours a week. The annual Tomato Classic Golf Day is on Friday 19 August, 2016 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course.Tee off @ 7:45am, limited numbers - first to pay - plays, booking sheet on the notice board at the rooms or see Matt O'Brien or Tim Hanson.

7-8.30pm - Seniors - in the hitting cage.

Due to the large number of players at training, please keep to the times and locations listed above so coaches can train their teams in an orderly fashion!

Brent Hura Challenge

Junior Update
Welcome to the 2016 winter baseball season at Frankston baseball club. Thanks to all those who participated in our 2 come and try days.Some Q & A's for all junior parents and players.
Q1. When is the next Junior training session?
A1. The next training date for juniors will be Saturday 19th March starting at 10am till 12pm.
- This day will be compulsory for all junior players in all age groups.
- There will be a training session available on the Easter weekend Saturday 26th March starting from 10am till 12pm. We understand that many of you will be away over this weekend so training is not compulsory, however it will be available for anyone who would like to attend.
- The final training day before the season starts will be Saturday 2nd of April starting at 10am till 12pm

T-Ball - All T-ball players will need to come down and register, however there is no training sessions for T-ball. We will start the T-ball season off on Sunday 3rd of April starting from 10am till 11:30am (please contact Stacey if you have any questions regarding this).
Q2. When does week night training commence?
A2. Week night trainings will commence a week before the season starts and continue throughout the season. Coaches will inform all parents of when their respective week night will be. Week night training is only for U11's, 13's, 15's and 17's.
Q3. When does the season start?
A3. Saturday 9th of April 2016
- Games start at 8:45am and go for 1hr 45mins. Please make sure your child is ready (boots on) at the ground by 8am on game days.
- Your coach will inform you each week on where you will be playing.
Q4. When do I register my son/daughter and pay fees?
A4. Registration days will be during training times on Saturday 19th March 2016 and Saturday 2nd April 2016.
- Your child will be fitted for their playing tops on these days as well (playing tops will be handed out at your first weeknight training before the season starts).
- We would appreciate payment of fees on those days, we take cash, cheque or bank transfer (Eftpos not available).
- It is compulsory for all players to be registered before the season starts. Your child cannot play until they are registered.
Q5. What are the junior fees?
A5. Junior fees are as follows:
- T-Ball = $60 (for a 10 week program)
- 11's = $130 + $20 uniform fee
- 13's = $130 + $20 uniform fee
- 15's = $130 + $20 uniform fee
- 17's = $130 + $20 uniform fee
(The uniform fee is for hire of the playing tops only). Caps are an additional $20 and must be worn for game day.
You can purchase baseball pants from Ausport (located at 11 Rushdale Street, Knox) and K2 (located at 41 Gilbert Park Drive, Knoxfeild) who specialise in baseball attire.
Q6. Do I need to bring anything to register my child?
A6. You must provide a copy of your son/daughter's birth certificate

Season 2016
The 2016 winter season for Juniors & Seniors will start on Saturday 9th April 2016.Senior coaches for 2016:

Training times and dates:
Juniors
To confirm, junior pre-season training will be held at the same time as the Come and Try days on Sunday 6th March and Sunday 13th March from 10am-12pm.
After this, all sessions will be held on Saturday mornings (from the 19th March) until the season starts. Times will be determined and advised to all on the 13th March.
Please feel free to bring a friend or family member along - the more the merrier!
Seniors
Senior pre-season training:
Sunday 13th March at 11.30am on our newly re-turfed diamond!
Saturday 19th March at 12.30pm
Saturday 26th March at 12.30pm (yes, one over Easter, so come down if you're free)
Saturday 2nd April at 12.30pm
We will let you know when Thursday night sessions start up again. Under 17 players, you are welcome to attend the senior trainings.
Women Wanted!
This season we are looking to field a women's team, and have had a few expressions of interest come in from new players. If you'd like to play on a Sunday (games are morning and afternoon) for a couple of hours and have a whole lot of fun doing it, please let me know.
All ages (from 13 and up) and skill levels are welcome. It's been a while since the Tomatoes had a women's team, and it would be great to see us involved in this again. Come and try/training will be held at the same time as the senior pre-season sessions, so please bring a friend along for a hit and a throw.
Also, if anyone is interested in coaching our women's team, please contact me.
Annual General Meeting
Our AGM will be held on Saturday 2nd April at 3pm at the clubrooms. We rely on our members to assist in the running of our club, and welcome new blood onto the committee. If you are willing to help out through the season but don't want the responsibility of being on the committee, we'd still love to hear from you. Please attend the AGM, it's a great opportunity to ask any questions, or make any suggestions to help out our club - help make a difference!

Winter 2016 - Club Coach
The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Ratcliffe as club coach for the 2016 winter baseball season. The Club has also appointed Daniel Reeman as assistant club coach to support Simon in both the training and game day operations of the club.We look forward to seeing both Simon and Dan commence their roles as soon as possible.
